 What is Dais? DAIS stands for Dealer & Agency Interface System and is an initiative of Queensland Transport, an arm of the Queensland State Government.
First launched to new car dealers in 1999, the DAIS system enables dealers to transact directly with Queensland Transport via Third Party Software Providers such as Dealer Solutions.
Such transactions include:
- Registrations.
- Vehicle Acquisitions.
- Renewal of Vehicle Registration.
- Transfer of Registration.
- Cancellation of Registration.
- Replacement of Number Plates.
- Replacement of Registration Certificates & Labels.
Dealer Solutions integrate the DAIS functionality into their inventory management software.
DAIS transactions are sent using Internet protocols via Dealer Solutions to Queensland Transport's TRAILS System (Transport And Integrated Licencing System).
The DAIS system provides enormous cost and time saving benefits to dealers. Unlike the manual system of visiting a Queensland Transport office and physically lodging transactions over the counter, the DAIS system processes transactions in real time.
