Here at Dealer Solutions, our Online Marketing team are dedicated to being across cutting-edge trends as they develop in the industry. One way they do this is by attending training events and seminars that are relevant to the digital space and last week they attended the Google Partners Masterclass at QUT Gardens Point campus.
It was an educational and fun afternoon where our team were able to find out about the latest and greatest developments in the digital marketing world. They are already hard at work on the practical application of these learnings for our clients. Here is a snapshot of what they took away from the day:
Sushma Waller – Online Marketing Advisor
At the Google Partners Masterclass, we were encouraged to focus on the customer journey in its entirety, as opposed to only considering the impact of the last-click. Understanding the journey that consumers make, and the process that drives purchase decisions can help marketers develop more effective Marketing Strategies. We learnt that on average, most consumers consult with at least ten different sources prior to making a purchase decision. Through utilising data in Google Analytics and AdWords, we can help our clients see value in being present across multiple online channels. By meeting best practices across a variety of online channels, we can deliver a high-quality customer experience, ultimately boosting a client’s online performance.
Brad Ayres – Online Marketing Advisor
At this year’s Google Masterclass, keynote speaker, David Booth, spoke about how as technology changes, reporting the most relevant results to our clients is more important than ever. We were introduced to a variety of updates to Google’s reporting products and some brand-new technology. This will allow us to understand the customer journey on a level that has never been available before. I’m really excited to start utilising this new technology and better Communicate These Results to our clients. I believe that with this reporting update, will be able to develop highly insightful strategies which will lead to even better results for our clients.

Google’s developments with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) were a large talking point during the Google Masterclass, being a new key aspect of AdWords account management. It’s important to acknowledge that we’re in the midst of a new technological age, with AI playing a major role in the future of online marketing. Google AdWords ML is not only providing an improved user experience, it’s helping account managers better understand their audience and more successfully target them. With Google’s AI, day to day processes will be streamlined, helping account managers attend to other tasks more efficiently and ultimately drive better results. AdWords will continue to be a major force in online marketing, so it’s important that we learn from Google’s ML and evolve successfully with this future progression.
